Sundays: Sunday Post #1

A weekly feature hosted by  Kimba @ Caffeinated Book Reviewer on Sundays

This week was crazy. I'm still having computer problems. My pc hasn't been fixed yet, and I have taken it to two different places already. I have a feeling they will tell me at the end, that my pc is dead for life. It was a 4 year pc and I was still using Windows Vista in it, but it was perfect.  I know I should move on, and get into the notebook generation, but I don't like it. I use notebooks at work, and now I've been using my kids notebooks to my daily dose of internet, but I dont like it.
My desktop was in my perfect little world. Yes, I've created my own dungeon, or the constructions people have created when my husband decided 5 years ago to give me a gift. It's in my basement and it's divided into 4 rooms. One full bath, a tv/game room, so my kids are down here also most of the day and I can keep my ears on them, my huge beautiful library and my tiny office with my wonderful, now dead, desktop. I read in this room, I blog, I surf the net, I work here and I use to watch tv shows on my big monitor.
Yes, I will wait for my computer's obituary. Util then I will keep using my kids notebooks when they are not home and/or when they let me borrow. Then in August, after vacation is over, I will convince my husband that I need a brand new beautiful desktop, because I have already decided that I'm not buying a laptop, I only haven't told him yet.

  1. I share your love of the desktop. I have a tablet that I use when on the go and mostly as an eReader, but I will be one of the last people to give up a desktop. You'll have to pull it from my lifeless hands lol! When telling the hubby, just remind him that a desktop can be MUCH cheaper than a notebook of the same specs - and if you can, you only have to buy the tower since you can usually reuse your screen, mouse and keyboard. That's what I do. Although I have two of each now and am seriously considering putting that second monitor to work. Anyway... good luck with the computer problems and have a great week :)

    1. Thanks. ;) I have my kindle fire that goes with me everywhere, so that's what I take when I'm travelling. At home, I need a big monitor ;) Thanks for stopping by.

  2. I love my laptop and do not want to go back to a desktop but if a desktop makes you happy, go for it and good luck!

    1. Thanks. :) I don't do much work outside, so when I'm travelling I use my kindle and it's enough for me.

  3. Aw, that's too bad about your computer! I use a desktop (with two monitors). I can't imagine switching to a laptop-my poor eyes couldn't handle it lol.

  4. Aw, I know how painful it can be for a PC to die. I have to use notebooks because I sit out a lot and do my computer stuff. Hope you get a replacement soon.

  5. COMPUTERS.. they never last. Mine don't last past 4 years really. I do think Macs last longer though in my experience. I love both my desktop and my laptop. I will say the nice thing about an iMac is that I can take it to any room I want!!

    1. Yes, that's exactly what I want next, an IMac. Even though I have always used windows until now, my daughter has a mac pro and I like it best, between my kids notebooks. I also like how it becomes one thing, phone, pc, etc. Thanks for stopping by!

  6. So sorry about your computer troubles. Our desktop went a year or so ago and we ended up buying another one because it just does stuff tablets can't. We did get fancy and get and all in 1 so there's no tower or anything. Good luck getting everything worked out!

  7. Oh, I do love the sound of your own little 'dungeon', your own little area, and with bath, library etc. wow. I have to do with a desk in our bedroom :)
Computer trouble is one of the worst kind of troubles… I now can't imagine anything else by laptop, but I guess you are used to the PC. I think you will like it though to be honest, you so quickly get used to it.
Have a great week and Happy Reading.
